This year, The Stelter Company built upon their groundbreaking 2008 survey The Stelter Donor Insight Report: Discovering the Secret Giver—the most comprehensive study to date on the subject of bequest giving. Polling U.S. residents age 30 and older who made a donation to at least one charity in 2008, they have now uncovered concrete data on what U.S. households are doing in reacting to the changing economic landscape. Specifically, gift planners can learn about the mood of the nation in regard to charitable giving. But of most value will be insight into ways to communicate most effectively with potential givers to persuade them to make a variety of planned gifts and to encourage steps to secure that gift now.
